Job Description: 

Our Pet Segment is seeking an Inventory Control Coordinator to be a part of our DMC Team based in Athens, Texas. The Inventory Control position will manage and maintain the accuracy of our raw materials, work in process, and finished goods inventories.  By administering and overseeing programs related to cycle counting, scrapping, and inventory shrinkage, this role will be successful in minimizing the financial and operational impact of improper inventory levels.  Please see the job details below for more information.

Responsibilities Include: 
  • Administer and oversee an effective cycle count program by delivering weekly cycle count assignments as well as conducting cycle counts.
  • Investigate to root cause all significant inventory variances and offer solutions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Review and approve inventory adjustments prior to financial impact.
  • Prepare and distribute inventory adjustment reports.
  • Prepare and participate in yearly physical inventory.
  • Assist in identifying obsolete and discontinued inventories and work towards final disposition.
Education/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 2 years prior experience in an inventory management role 
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage a high SKU, high value inventory in a fast paced manufacturing and logistics environment
  • Strong Excel skills with working knowledge of pivot tables and spreadsheet formulas
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Ability to pull / lift 40 – 50 pounds repeatedly during the shift
  • Ability to communicate with employees in a manner promoting a “team” work environment
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Work Environment: 
  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment.  Work temperatures can vary due to outside temperatures. 
  • There may be some variation in work hours due to overtime, special projects, deadlines, and other business initiatives.
